Ponisha is one of Iran's largest and longest-running freelance marketplaces — the place where businesses post projects and freelancers from across the country compete to win them. With hundreds of thousands of visitors a month and a community spanning developers, designers, writers, translators and dozens of other specialties, the product sits at the heart of how a lot of Iranian freelance work actually happens. By 2020, Ponisha had earned its position as a market leader, but the product was carrying years of organic growth. The flows for posting a project, bidding, communicating and closing out work had each grown in their own direction, the design language was uneven across the site, and the experience didn't quite reflect the scale and seriousness of the marketplace behind it. A serious product design pass was overdue. Webrokh joined Ponisha as its product design partner for a full redesign. We rebuilt the journeys for both sides of the marketplace — employers posting and choosing freelancers, freelancers finding and winning work — brought a consistent design system across the website, web app and user panel, and reshaped the parts of the product that handle trust, communication and payment. The result was a marketplace that looked and felt as established as it actually was.
